I’m really happy with the finished product!

Then I remembered the bugs! Avery would have been heartbroken if her glitter bugs didn’t make the cut, so I added them in, and put the wreath on her much-prettier-2013 bedroom door.

I arranged them the way I wanted and VOILA! I hung it on our not-so-pretty-1950’s front door! Then it was time to pin! The straight pins easily poked through the paper and into the wreath. The Silhouette makes it SO EASY! I found a file for a simple “3D” flower set, placed them, and let the machine do it’s thang! I cut three different colors of card stock, and then organized the flowers in the way I wanted them. Once that was complete and Avery was sound asleep, I got to work on the flowers. (It took about 6 yards of ribbon for the 10 inch wreath) I pinned the end so it wouldn’t come loose, then wrapped all the way around and used two pins to secure it at the end. I started by wrapping the ribbon around the foam wreath. I picked up all of my supplies and headed home to get craftin’! (Avery found some glittery lady bugs, and refused to let them go, so they became part of the project!) I decided on a cut paper flower diy wreath, that doesn’t even require any glue! I knew I wanted to use my Silhouette Cameo machine for this project, and I knew it needed to be simple, and something I could finish while Avery napped. Once I had all the tissue paper flowers aligned and secured where I wanted them, I then glued the moss in-between the flowers and at the ends with hot glue.I was feeling very crafty this week, and we were in need of some new spingy/summery decor (I’ll confess we had our Christmas wreath up until March…) So Avery and I headed to Michael’s craft store and get to work! Once all my flowers were complete, I secured them onto the twig wreath with the floral wire that the flowers were already connected to. Then made 4 smaller sized tissue paper flowers in the same colors, two of each. I made two large tissue paper flowers, one white and one teal.

Ta-Da! Your tissue paper flower is complete! Continue pulling each layer up toward the top until all layers of tissue paper are separated and you have formed the flower. Spread out the tissue paper and carefully pull up the first layer. Place floral wire in the middle of tissue paper and fold over. Once you have cut your tissue paper to size, place the short side in front of you and fold accordion style in 1″ folds.Ĭut both ends of tissue paper into half circles. The smaller flowers I cut to about 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. For the larger flowers, I cut my tissue paper about 7″ x 12″. Take 5 sheets of tissue paper, cut to size. This spring wreath is super easy to create especially the flowers, which I was really surprised! The flowers only took minutes to make and where really fun to create!Īs you can see I wasn’t on top of things this time and forgot to take a picture of everything before I started making it…. My spring wreath is just what my front door needed, bright, fun, and Spring-a-licious! it could be that I have new wreath to display and have finally taken down my fall wreath! I am pretty sure option B is the clear winner here! As much as I did like my fall wreath, it was definitely time to take down and was making things a little dreary around here. I can’t begin to tell you how I excited I am about my spring wreath! Maybe it is because I’m ready for the bright vibrant colors of spring and the warmer weather, OR…. This creative challenge is open to anyone, so jump on in and show us your inner creative side! This months project is all about paper flowers, and that is how my spring wreath came about! Although I have only participated in the first challenge which was knitting, crocheting, sewing, weaving, embroidery or quilting, (I made some envelope pillows, but didn’t blog about it) I have really been enjoying it! It has made me create and try new things that I may have never done before. I have been partaking in Elegance & Enchantments Creative Challenge, which is 12 months of projects to get in touch with your creative side.
